"Oliver is a classic that we read while we were still in school. Revisiting the play as its directors was a wonderful opportunity.  We created the musical with an enormous cast and an intense background score to elicit the environment of the London of late 19th century. Oliver is an endearing character and we wanted to ensure that his innocence came through against the backdrop of the darkness of a crime ridden society."
